I find such beauty and solace in the Jewish saying, “May their memory be a blessing,” as a way of honoring the dead. It’s also now commonly said in movement circles as, “May their memory be a revolution.”
As someone who talks and thinks and makes a lot of art about grief, I was reflecting on the particular pain of losing members of our movement family, and wanted to make a related grief card. I came to the language of, “May their memory be a movement.”
But as I was printing the cards, thinking of them as cards for people to use in times of individual loss, our collective losses continued to mount. I thought about our collective memories of our people who continue to be killed by fascism, colonization, Israeli apartheid, empire, white supremacy, xenophobia, transphobia… And then this week, ICE murdered Johan Sebastián Duran Guerrero in Biddeford, Maine - 30 minutes from where I live.
Each of these losses is of course an individual loss, but a thread of injustice pulls through all of them. And suddenly there was a plural sound to those words:
May their memories be a movement.
Because, I would argue, we need a movement (movements, really) in order to be ready for a revolution.
So these prints are a small offering for our collective grief, and for this movement we so desperately need to keep building. May our collective grief help to connect us instead of isolate us. May we learn from those who have grieved before us and listen to those who grieve beside us. The way we tend to each other’s grief is the spirit of solidarity we need to build at scale.
40% of the proceeds from the sale of these prints will go to the Maine Solidarity Fund. This fund is “designed to provide rapid, direct, and equitable support to community members facing increased detention, targeted harassment, policy rollbacks, and systemic discrimination under the current Trump administration.”
May their memory be a movement.

6 letterpress printed gift tags
in minimal, recyclable packaging
Sometimes letterpress printing doesn’t go according to plan - and these letterpress gift tags are unintended but beautiful evidence of that. Made from 8×10in (abolitionist!) letterpress prints that had stray marks or imperfect registration, these tags are perfect themselves, but something else meant that the prints they came from didn’t pass quality control. I’m delighted to share them in this way, and to make something else lovely and festive out of these vibrant monarch butterfly colors and lovely thick bright white cardstock.

Sometimes letterpress printing doesn’t go according to plan - and these letterpress gift tags are unintended but beautiful evidence of that. Made from winter solstice cards that had stray marks or imperfect inking, these tags are perfect themselves, but something else meant that the cards they came from didn’t pass quality control. I’m delighted to share them in this way, and to make something else lovely and festive out of this pretty gold ink and thick cotton paper. (And you can hold in your heart the message from the original cards!)
QUEER & TRANS REBELLION
against false borders placed on
gender & desire
is a blueprint
for the liberation of
THE WORLD.

approx. 7.5in x 9in
violet & fluorescent pink ink on
65lb grapesicle French Paper

Queer & trans people have always existed, across every border that has ever been invented, and have always been a part of imagining something better for all of us. As attacks on trans people’s existence continue and intensify, and as we close out the season of pinkwashing / pride, I wanted to revisit this design as something that honors the vision and magic of imagining and living in a world with infinite iterations of gender & desire.
And as we watch the horrors of genocide in Palestine continue to unfold (including its impact on queer & trans Palestinians) and as the public erasure of trans people in the UK & US continues, and as bigots and billionaires actively fuel & fund endless attempts on our big beautiful gay lives, I don’t want to be anywhere else except shoulder to shoulder with my queer & trans beloveds and our communities as we keep fighting to build a world that insists on our dignity and humanity and LIFE.
This is the second printing - June 2026 on the Vandercook 4 at Pickwick Independent Press.

Care work is exhausting, necessary, life-changing, highly skilled, emotional, sometimes a job, sometimes a calling, and filled with moments of mundane magnificence.
Printed (for the second time!) at Pickwick Independent Press in Portland, Maine in November 2023.
care is dangerous to capitalism is dangerous to care is dangerous to capitalism…
6×6 in letterpress print
135# bright white acid-free cardstock
silver-black & roseblush ink, plus a blind deboss
hand-set metal type and cuts
A letterpress print to remind myself and maybe you too that while it is true that capitalism is dangerous to care, the inverse is also true. While capitalism strips us of the opportunities to get our human needs of giving & receiving care met, when we do push back and slow down long enough to give & receive care, the facade of the supposed virtue of endless productivity at all costs is shattered.
Printed on a Vandercook 4 at Pickwick Independent Press in Portland, Maine in April 2026.
