may we orient ourselves by asking if our actions
are moving us closer to the liberation of all people
from the perilous waters
of white supremacy
of racial capitalism
of imperialism
of colonialism
of all the systems
that keep us adrift
and cursing each other
over scarce resources:
may the compass in your heart
remind you that the pull you feel
toward that star you are following
is real, and that there is enough
for each of us, if only we demand
that no one is left behind.
