Protection from the lie of disposability. One part witchcraft, one part theory, one part empathy, thirteen parts nuance: abolition and disposability are incompatible. We cannot throw each other away while fighting for a world in which no one is disposable. I believe both in the possibility of rigorous accountability and the power & importance of righteous rage, and that neither one require us to abandon our belief in the inherent worth of every person. Created as a spell & an offering to keep us focused on the world we are collectively building, piece by messy, imperfect piece.
