About The Printers’ Tarot
This 78-card black and white tarot deck is designed entirely using letterforms from the typeface Garamond* to create images. None of the letters were distorted to make the images; they were digitally rotated, resized, and layered.

I conceived & created the PRINTERS’ TAROT beginning in November 2017, and first released it in 2018. In a true moment of flow, I designed almost the entire Major Arcana in one sitting. As a student of letterpress printing, I have a deep love of letterforms and a belief that the written word can be full of magic.

For this 2023 second edition release, The Printers’ Tarot: Second Edition features revised & updated card interpretations, refined card designs, and a new how-to guide for reading tarot. In addition, the face cards are now the novice, apprentice, printer, and mentor: I think these names better reflect the journey of many letterpress printers.

The deck was digitally designed and is printed by Dale Rand Printing, a union printshop in Portland, Maine.

*For my fellow type nerds, I used Garamond Premier Pro.
